The use of soft coating Low E Glass is rapidly increasing due to the improved energy efficiency it provides in the performance of Insulated Units. When using soft coated Low E glass, the Low E coating must be stripped from the glass edge in order for the sealing adhesive to bond to the glass. Perfect Technology offers a low cost Edge Deletion Machine to accomplish this stripping operation very rapidly. The below photograph illustrates this machine.

The operation of this machine is as follows:

Operator loads a glass lite on the ball caster table with the Low E Coated side up. Operator positions the lite against the guide rollers on the left side of the edge deletion table. With the glass lite against the guide rollers the operator pushes the lite left so that the glass edge passes through and under the fiber edge deletion wheel.

The edge deletion device is a fiber abrasive wheel powered by a 3/4 HP motor turning at a speed of 3450 rpm. As the glass sheeting is pushed under the deletion wheel the low E coating is abraded off. The mount for the deletion drive motor is adjustable so that the motor can be lowered as the abrasive wheel wears. Drive motor operates on 115 volt power.

The operator rotates the glass lite 90 degrees and repeats steps 1 through 3 to delete the coating from each edge of the glass lite. The Machine has the following construction features:

Table Top Frame and Frame Base is fabricated from 2" x 2" heavy wall tubular steel. Ball Casters are mounted onto the top frame. The casters are 2" diameter neoprene spherical balls will not scratch the glass. Construction of the Edge Deletion Machine is all MIG welded. Standard Stock Size is 60" x 80'.

Ball Caster Table Top has ball casters mounted on 6" centers. Ball Caster Table Top has 20" x 22" cutout for operator access when edge deleting smaller sized lites.

Table is shipped knocked down and folded up to reduced freight expense and to allow for easy transport, movement and storage in the factory. Requires minor assembly.
